I Love My Country, But I Think We Should Start Seeing Other People

I pledge disturbance
with the plans
of the United States of America,
for our republic
is broken and
our nation's
obsessed with God
but still quibbling
over civil rights
and healthcare for all.

  1. I had this Twitt session with a friend of mine...
and we got to the conclusion that American people are suffering of a Manic Depression syndrome.
Not that the issues aren't real, and not that criticism isn't valid, but in only one year you can hardly judge long term policies, specially economic steps.
Now, as for your "seeing other people" you mean what, Europe? THINK AGAIN!
I still believe US is a better choice (after Israel, of course...LOL).

  3. Well, no, I'm not expecting miracles in one year, especially regarding the economy, but apparently that's the criticism from the other side -- that there haven't been any miracles yet, and they're all "A HA!! See?! We told you!!" It's not all about Obama; it's something that's always bothered me about government. I'm not a hardcore political junkie, but I know what's important to me and I just get tired of nothing seeming to get done because each side is too busy trying to appease the other and not insult anyone. Take an actual *stand* on something, damn it!

The "seeing other people" quote was actually something I saw on a bumper sticker. :) I can believe there is no better country than the US, but that doesn't mean there's still not room for improvement. We could take cues on some issues from others. That's all.

And I actually am manic-depressive. Seems about an accurate analysis. :)

  5. Neurotic, and manic-depressive? LOL

Now seriously, I was talking about a social disorder. We have a similar illness here in Israel.
My Twitter pal & I had been watching US news, and also were impressed by Mr. Negative's series of furious "revolutionary" Twitts...

The sticker you quoted was merely the trigger

  6. Yeah, I'm all kinds of crazy. :)

I got what you meant. And I've read some of those @replies -- I have no idea how he handles the flood of "LOLOL UR SO FUNNY WAT R U TALKIN ABOUT?" responses from like, "AdAmLuVr4LyFe" without fire-bombing something.

How long have you lived in Israel?
